Education

Explore the rich history of the American Revolution through our educational programs and resources.
Our chapter is committed to inspiring patriotism and knowledge by sharing the stories and sacrifices of our patriot ancestors.

Exploring Our Past

Our organization creates many opportunities for learning about this exciting era of American history! We are involved with many local schools, civic organizations, clubs, and the public at large with events and presentations that bring the fight for independence to life for everyone in our community. Education is one the central tenets of Stephen Holston Chapter. The more we learn about the origins of our country, the more we understand what it means to be an American today.

Youth Programs

The Stephen Holston Chapter participates in and supports several of the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) annual awards programs that allow students and educators to become more involved and engaged in the American Revolutionary period. These awards encourage civic responsibility and duty, creative and effective teaching practices for the classroom, and a deeper understanding of the complicated issues surrounding the war for American independence.

The Stephen Holston Chapter awards a $200 prize and a Certificate to the 1st Place recipient. Winners at each level beyond the Chapter are eligible for awards as published by the associated Society. The Stephen Holston Chapter must receive the entry by December 15th at 5:00 pm to be eligible.

More info about each award program, applications, etc., are available by clicking the button for the award program title below. If you have questions about these programs, contact us at 865-217-6427 or stephenholstonchapter@gmail.com.
