Join Us to Celebrate!
The Stephen Holston Chapter, Tennessee Society Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) invites you to a special Liberty Tree Dedication as part of the Historic Ramsey House’s America’s 250th celebration.
A Symbol of Liberty Reborn
The Liberty Tree of colonial Boston stood as a powerful symbol of resistance and unity in the years leading up to the American Revolution. First gaining prominence in 1765 during protests against the Stamp Act, it became a gathering place where patriots organized and proclaimed the cause of liberty. Though the original tree was cut down in 1775, its legacy endured, spreading across the colonies as a living symbol of American freedom. Today, we honor that legacy by dedicating a new Liberty Tree here in Knox County.

at James White’s Fort
Join the Stephen Holston Chapter, Tennessee Society Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) for a meaningful Independence Day observance as we commemorate the birth of our nation at one of Knoxville’s most historic sites.
On July 4, 1776, the Continental Congress approved the Declaration of Independence. Days later, it was read aloud to the public for the first time, proclaiming the principles of liberty that continue to guide our nation.
We invite you to experience that moment as it is brought to life through a ceremonial reading and reflection.
